Charlotte, NC- The Lady Cobras took on Johnson C Smith University away in Charlotte, NC Thursday in collegiate tennis. The Cobras were looking for their first win of the season and came out strong in the doubles. Rachel Lemar and Jill Smith came in with the first win 8-5. The No. 1 doubles pair of Andrea Santos and Ashley Pace also brought in a victory 8-5. The third doubles match was a win for the Cobras due to insufficient players for Johnson C Smith University. This gave the Cobras a 3-0 lead going into the singles.

The singles went much the same way as the Cobras came out strong from the beginning. Lemar played solid tennis to bring in the first victory for the Cobras winning 6-0, 6-1. Pace shortly followed with another comfortable victory 6-1, 6-2 to seal the match for Coker. The Cobras did not stop there as both Smith and Crighton won in straight sets without dropping a game. The final score was a convincing 8-1 victory.
