CLINTON, SC — The Presbyterian College men’s and women’s tennis teams opened the home portion of the 2005 season this afternoon with a sweep of Coker College at the Templeton Tennis Courts. The #19-ranked men’s team defeated the Cobras 8-1 while the Blue Hose women’s squad won 9-0.

In the women’s match, PC completed a sweep of all three doubles matches to go ahead 3-0 entering singles. PC’s sophomore Lauren Brown (Gaffeny, SC) teamed with freshman Kari Fuller (Suwanee, GA) to win at  #1 doubles 8-3 over Coker’s duo of sophomore Andrea Santos (Greber, CA) and freshman Sara Hickman (Florence, SC). Brown went on to defeat Coker’s senior Jennifer Crocker (Union, SC) 6-0, 6-0 while PC freshman Brittany Lanford (Florence, SC) defeated freshman Ashley Pace (Clinton, SC) 6-1, 6-1 as the Blue Hose went on to win 9-0.
