Cobras Fall to Shaw in Midweek Action

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University women's soccer team fell in midweek non-conference action Wednesday (Oct. 20) night to the Shaw University Lady Bears by a score of 1-0.

The two teams battled back and forth in the early minutes of play, until Shaw's Mya Rolinson gave the Lady Bears a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. Shaw would be reduced to 10 players in the 22nd minute when Hannah Lucas was shown a red card. The Cobras applied pressure on the Lady Bears throughout the game but were unable to find the back of the net.

Freshman Dylan Winstead led the way for the Cobras with three shots, including two on goal. Fellow freshman Chloe Mullen also chipped in with two shots, one being put on frame. Junior goalkeeper Sarah Swaim recorded four saves in net.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 23) when they travel to Jefferson City, TN to take on the Carson-Newman Eagles. Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
