Cobras Poised to Continue Streak at Home Against Newberry

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker women's soccer team will look to continue their two-match unbeaten streak when they host the Newberry College Wolves on Wednesday (Oct. 23). The match is slated for a 4:30 p.m. kick-off at the Coker Soccer Field, and will be broadcast live online at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are coming off a scoreless draw against Carson-Newman College (Oct. 19) in their most recent competition.

Jalynn Fortt, Millie Rogers, Jordan Roy, and Salina Maynard each have tallied two goals on the season to lead the Coker offensive attack, while goalkeeper Lizz Morris continues to be the defensive catalyst with her conference and nation leading 133 saves.

Led by Gabrielle Brodie's four goals and five assists, the regionally ranked No. 10 Wolves enter the game 8-5 overall and 5-3 in conference. Newberry dropped their last game 2-0 to Wingate University.

Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. Coker will also be hosting Scout Night. All boy/girl scouts wearing their uniforms will be admitted free.
