Coker Looking to Land Eagles

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's soccer team is set to take on the Carson-Newman Eagles in a SAC competition this Saturday (Oct. 19) at the Coker Soccer Field. The match will have a live webcast available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are coming off a 2-0 win over Mount Olive on Wednesday (Oct. 16), thanks to two goals from freshman forward Salina Maynard and two assists from sophomore forward Jalynn Fortt.  Maynard now joins the company of Millie Rogers, Jordan Roy, and Fortt as the team's leading scorers.      

Carson-Newman is heading into the game after a 3-1 win over Milligan College on Wednesday (Oct. 16). The Eagles are 2-3-1 in conference play and 4-5-2 overall. Sidnee Edwards and Gabrielle Gianeselli lead the Eagles offensively with four goals on the season.  

The event will be the third consecutive "Kick for Ta-ta's" game hosted by the women's soccer team.  The team will wear pink shirts during warm-ups and pink socks during the game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  

The game will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty, and staff.  All fans are encouraged to wear pink.
