Four More Commit to Play Soccer for Coker Women in 2012

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head women's soccer coach Dan Muns is pleased to announce the addition of four more student-athletes for the 2012 season. Joining the Cobras in the fall of 2012 will be Trahrissa Monroe, Katie Cooper, Bailey Van Order and Kristen Keenan.

Monroe is a defender from Gulfport, Miss., where she most recently played for the Mississippi State and Regional Championship team at Jones County Junior College. An All-State selection at Jones, Monroe was a standout player at Long Beach High School prior to her time at Jones.

According to Muns, "Trahrissa brings terrific experience to our backline and she loves to attack out of the back."

Cooper comes to Coker from Germany where she is a two-sport star in soccer and golf at Vilseck American High School. She was an All-Region soccer player and was named Second Team All-Europe in golf. She is a member of the student council, the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars and the Future Educators Association. Cooper is also a Principal's Honor Roll student, an attendee at the Konrad Adenhauer Seminar in Berlin and a Germany Junior Leadership Seminar Attendee.

A midfielder Cooper is "a crafty player with good vision and technical skill," says Muns.

Van Order is a native of Granville, Ohio, where she was a midfielder for the Granville Aces. She received First Team All-League and First Team All-District honors, was an All-Ohio selection and was named the Player of the Year by the Newark Advocate. An honor roll student, Van Order played club soccer for Xtabi and CSA.

"Bailey is definitely a skilled playmaker and a scoring threat at all times," said Muns.

A midfielder from Oviedo, Fla., Keenan is a four-time letter winner at Hagerty High School. She was a member of the 5A District Championship Team and was the team's assist leader. She was also a member of CFK Crush club team, an honor roll student and an officer in both the Beta and Key Clubs.

Muns commented that, "Keenan has a terrific work rate and generates scoring opportunities in multiple ways from the midfield."

Along with Muns' pervious commitments, there will be 11 new players joining the Cobras in 2012.
