HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head women’s soccer coach Dan Muns is pleased to announce that Lizz Morris has signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer for the Cobras starting in the fall of 2011.

A goalkeeper from Stillwater, N.Y., Morris is a standout three sport athlete at Stillwater High School. A five-time soccer, three-time track and two-time indoor track letter winner, Morris is a four-time Wasaren All-Star Soccer selection and was named the Class B Section 2 Goalkeeper of the Year for 2010-11. She was also a Class B First Team All-Section 2 All-Star and Class B Second Team All-State selection averaging more than 120 saves per season.

Exceptionally gifted off the field as well, Morris is a member of the National Honors Society, was named to the Principal’s List and is ranked in the Top 10 in her class.

According to Coach Muns, Morris is expected to battle for a starting role in the net. “Lizz is very dynamic and explosive in her movement,” added Muns. “She is a very good athlete and does a great job putting herself in the right position to make saves.”

Coach Muns along with Morris and the rest of the Cobras will take to the field for their 2011 season starting on September 1 when they take on USC Aiken at home.
