HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head women’s soccer coach Dan Muns is pleased to announce the addition of two new players for the fall of 2011. A pair of twin sisters, Carrie and Tina Stokes will don Cobra jerseys starting in August.

The duo comes to Coker from Camden, S.C. where they were standout players at Camden High School. Carrie, a defender, is a three-time All-Region and two-time Defensive Player of the Year selection, while Tina, a forward, is a three-time Region Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year selection.

According to Coach Muns, Carrie is an anchor type defender who has the ability to play anywhere on the backline. “She reads the game very well and does a great job of making things predictable for her teammates,” added Muns. “Her determination in not allowing opposing players to get behind her will make a strong case for earning a starting spot this fall.”

On the other side of the field Tina is expected to make an impact right away in an attacking role. “Tina has a nose for the goal and will immediately make us more threatening in our new attacking rhythms,” said Muns. “Like her sister she is a very versatile player, she brings an appreciation for defending the pitch to the offense.”

The Cobra women will open up their 2011 campaign under the direction of first year Head Coach Muns on September 1 at home against USC Aiken.
