Pembroke, NC- In their second contests of the season, neither Coker Soccer Team was able to get the offense going, as they both fell to the UNC-Pembroke Braves. The women lost 5-0 and the men lost 3-0, dropping both teams to 0-2 on the year.

 

The women were first up and it was Pembroke’s Melanie Cobb that became the Cobras undoing early, tallying the first three Brave goals; her third, fourth and fifth of the season. Coker was unable to mount much offense all night only recording three shots, as compared to Pembroke’s 47.

 

Freshman keeper Krista Coleman recorded 19 saves in the match, while sophomore Krystal Samayoa recorded five saves for the Cobras.

Next up for the Cobra Soccer Clubs is Chowan College on Friday, September 1 at the Coker College Soccer Field. The women kick-off at 4:00 p.m. followed by the men at 7:00 p.m. These are the first home matches of the season and both teams will be on the hunt for their first victories of the year.
