FULL THE OPEN MAT INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS RELEASE

CULVER CITY, Calif. - Coker University wrestling was recognized in both the latest individual and team rankings published by The Open Mat, released today (Thursday, Feb. 13). 

 Redshirt junior Ramon Correa moved up to No. 4 in the individual national poll at 285 pounds. Correa is riding a six-match winning streak in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas, after a 10-5 decision over Nick Weldon of No. 13 Newberry back on Tuesday (Feb. 11). On the season, Correa is 12-3 with a perfect 9-0 record in dual matches, four wins by fall and one win by major decision. Correa is also ranked No. 11 by FloWrestling and No. 11 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA). 

Coker comes into The Open Mat's Top 25 at No. 25, with a 7-4 overall record and a 3-3 mark in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas. This is the second national ranking in the history of the program for Coker, as the Cobras were ranked No. 22 in the NWCA national poll back in 2015-16. The Cobras are also currently receiving votes in the NWCA national poll.  

The Cobras are back on the mat on Sunday (Feb. 16), to host Emmanuel (Ga.) in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action. The action begins at 2:00 p.m., with video available at www.cokercobras.com.
