ROCK HILL, S.C. - Coker University women's golfer Alicia Fajardo was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Feb. 26).

Alicia Fajardo, a senior from Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain, won the Converse Spring Invite on Tuesday (Feb. 18) in Spartanburg, S.C. at the Carolina Country Club. Fajardo won the tournament individually by carding scores of 79 (+7) and 74 (+2) in two rounds of play. The win was her first of the season and her second top-10 finish. In 2019, Alicia set the Coker school record for lowest score in a single round of play at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational (Oct. 7) with a score of 70 (-2).

"Alicia's been a very consistent golfer all season, and her first college win was a long time coming," said coach Sam Stark. "She works extremely hard to be one of the best golfers in the conference. I'm excited to see how she wraps up a distinguised career!"
