Coker Women's Golf Set to Play in Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker women's golf team will kick off the 2013 spring season at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate on Saturday (Feb. 2). 

Participating in in this year's Kiawah Island Intercollegiate for the Cobras will be Sara Allen, Krista Thorpe, Taylor Demby, Mallory Thompkins, and Jessi McKenzie

Thorpe led the Cobras in the fall season by averaging 82.3-strokes after eight rounds.  Taylor Demby and Mallory Thompkins averaged 83 and 83.1 strokes, while Jessi McKenzie averaged 91.9-strokes.  Allen averaged 79.5-strokes after participating in two rounds last season.

Entering its 11th year, the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate has evolved into one of the premier NCAA Division II women's golf tournaments in the nation.  The 18-team tournament field includes 14 colleges and universities that are currently ranked in the top 50 in the latest Golfstat Head-to-Head Standings.
