Cobras Set Team Record In First Round of Anderson Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. – After one round at the Anderson Invitational, the Coker women's golf team is tied for fourth place after shooting a team score of 330 and setting a new team record. 

Sara Allen shot a 79 to lead the Cobras, sitting only seven-over-par.  Allen sunk 9 pars, and had one birdie.  Freshman standout Taylor Demby wasn't far behind the Coker leader shooting just nine-over-par with a score of 81.  Demby followed suit behind Allen with 9 pars of her own.  Mallory Thompkins dropped in two birdies for the Cobras, and ended the day with an 84 (+12).  Krista Thorpe shot an 86, while teammate Jessi McKenzie shot a 99. 

The Cobras are currently tied with Anderson University.  They will be looking to close the gap in the second and final round against Flagler College(1),  Queens University of Charlotte(2), and Converse College(3).
