VAAS, N.C. – Coker's Krista Thorpe is tied for 15^th place overall after carding an opening round 85 at the 2012 Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Tournament on Monday. As a team the Cobras are in ninth place.

Queens University of Charlotte leads the field, followed by Mount Olive College in second and Pfeiffer University in third.

Caroline Dula shot a 95, while Sara Allen and Jessi McKenzie carded scores of 97 and 98 respectively for the Cobras.

The women will complete the final 18 holes of the tournament on Tuesday starting at 8:30 a.m.
