Cobra Women Finish 13th at Rendleman Invitational

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Coker women's golf team finished up play at the 2011 Patsy Rendleman Invitational with a combined team score of 353 (+65), placing them in 13th place for the tournament. Newberry College captured the team championship with Carson Newman College coming in second and Tusculum College came in third.

Leading the way for the Cobras on the 5,998-yard, par-72 Country Club of Salisbury was Krista Thorpe (Bracebridge, Ontario) with an 84 (+12), while Sara Allen (Fort Mill, S.C.) carded an 86 (+14). Mallory Thompkins (Georgetown, S.C.) turned in a 90 (+18) and Jessi McKenzie (McBee, S.C.) and Caroline Dula (Salisbury, N.C.) each shot 93 (+21) and 99 (+27) respectively. 

The Cobras will now take a break from playing as they prepare for the championship segment of their season starting in February. Their first tournament of the spring season will be on Feb. 3 at Kiawah Island at the Tusculum Invitational.
