Cobras Ready to Take on Tornados at Home on Saturday

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball will try to get a key South Atlantic Conference win when they take on Brevard on Saturday (Jan. 28). Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Coker and Brevard last met on Dec. 10 where Coker came away with the 75-70 road win. The Cobras controlled both the offensive and defensive glass, while four players scored in double figures.

The Cobras fell in their most recent South Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday night (Jan. 25) at Catawba, 59-46. Iresha Cooper led the Cobras with 12 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double effort, while Sydney Shull and Lindsey Adams added eight apiece.

Cooper leads the Cobras offensively on the year, averaging 11.3 points per game, which is 17th individually in the conference. The junior is also second in the league in field goal percentage, shooting 54.2 percent from the floor.

The Tornados come into the contest 5-12 overall with one win in SAC play. Madison Lenox leads the team offensively, averaging a South Atlantic Conference best 20.8 points per game. 

Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. This is Coker's annual Make-A-Wish game and fans are encouraged to take part in a "Blue Out" in the DeLoach Center.
