Cobras Ready to Battle Trojans on Wednesday

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball will take on the Anderson University Trojans in South Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday (Dec. 14). 

The Cobras fell on Monday night (Dec. 12) 59-53 on the road at Queens, in the second game of a five-game stretch over the course of nine days. Iresha Cooper totaled a team-high 14 points in the contest against Queens, while Kaleah Hires also tallied double figures with 10. The Cobras registered 24 points in the paint, 23 from the bench and outscored the home team on second-chance points 10-6.

Cooper also leads the Cobras offensively, averaging 12.3 points per game, which is 15th-best individually in the conference. Cooper also leads the conference in field goal percentage at 57.7 percent. Terrika Foster is also chipping in 10.1 points per game, which is tied for 26th individually. Sydney Shull is averaging 9.9 points per game, and has found her way into a starting role for the Navy and Gold. Cooper and Foster are also first (6.0) and third (4.9) on the team respectively in rebounds per game.

The Trojans come into the matchup with a 6-1 record and a spotless 3-0 mark in conference. Despite having only played three games, Alexis Dillard is averaging 17.3 points per game. Heather Jankowy is also averaging 11.3 points per game, which is tied for 20th individually in the conference.

Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. Fans are encouraged to  to contribute to the canned food drive that benefits Hartsville Interfaith Ministries. Fans who donate two canned goods will be admitted to the game free of charge.
