NEWBERRY, S.C.- The Coker women's basketball team dropped its season opener to Limestone 71-44 at the Stokes-Trainor Conference Challenge on Friday (Nov. 11).

The Cobras were able to put a scare into the No. 6 Saints, keeping the game close through the first half. They came within five in the first quarter and kept the deficit to nine at the half. Trailing 17-12 after one quarter, Coker was able to take a quick 18-17 lead on a pair of Lindsey Adams three-pointers. Coker was able to keep it close in the second quarter as well, when a Caitland Considine free throw with 3:50 left on the clock knotted the game at 25. Limestone went on a bit of a run to end the second quarter. The Cobras were held to single-digit scoring in both quarters of the second half, allowing Limestone to pull away for the victory.

Terrika Foster and Sydney Shull each notched a team-high 11 points, while Lindsey Adams added eight and Iresha Cooper chipped in six. Shull was perfect shooting on the day.

The Cobras are back in action tomorrow (Saturday, Nov. 12) for day two of the Stokes-Tranior Conference Challenge when they take on Belmont Abbey. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. at Newberry's Eleazer Arena.
