Cobras Set for Clash with Lions

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball looks to log another South Atlantic Conference win on Saturday (Jan. 9) when they take on Mars Hill. Live stats and video for the game will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

On Wednesday (Jan. 6), the Cobras dropped a nail-biting 61-60 decision at Wingate. Jazz Green and Kiara Shoats each poured in 16 points while Kendra Lambert added 13. The Cobras held a four point lead with three minutes left but the Bulldogs were able to shoot their way past the navy and yellow. 

Jazz Green currently is third in the conference averaging 15.3 points per game. The senior also sits in third in the SAC in rebounds per game, averaging 9.7.  Terrika Foster is eighth in the conference in field goal percentage (51.0). As a team, Coker is fourth in the conference averaging 67.2 points per game.

Mars Hill comes into the matchup with a 4-8 overall record and a 3-4 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. The Lions are led offensively by seniors Candence Wilmoth and Ansley Ricker, who average 13.4 and 13.2 points per game respectively. 

Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
