Cobra Women Fall in Home Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball fell in its home opener to Augusta University 75-68.

Three Cobra starters logged double figures in points in the contest. Jazz Green dropped 18, Terrika Foster poured in 17 and Kendra Lambert added 12. Coker shot 32.8% from the floor (21-64) including 33.3% from beyond the arc (8-24). As a team the Cobras were 18-28 (64.3%) from the charity stripe.

Coker trailed by nine at the half, as Jazz Green tallied seven of the team's 10 points in the second quarter. In the frame, the Cobras were 5-7 (71.4%) from three-point range.  

The Jaguars led by as many as 14 and only trailed by as many as two. Right out of the gate in the fourth quarter the Cobras came within two in a 53-51 game. An 8-0 run that spanned into the final period helped Coker get back in the game. Coker outscored Augusta 24-19 in the third quarter.

Coker comes back on Thursday (Nov. 19) when they host Barton in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
