Coker Welcomes Augusta for Hoops Home Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's basketball will play host to Augusta University on Wednesday (Nov. 18) for its home opener.

The Cobras come home after splitting a pair of games at the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. Coker lost to No. 12 Limestone on Friday (Nov. 13) 94-55 and defeated Belmont Abbey on Saturday (Nov. 14) 88-86. In the win over Belmont Abbey, five players notched double figures including Kendra Lambert with a team-high 23 points. Senior Jazz Green leads the team offensively averaging 20 points per game through the first two contests.

Augusta comes into the contest after competing in the Conference Carolinas/Peach Belt Challenge and splitting its two games. The Jaguars defeated Southern Wesleyan 77-59 and fell to Emmanuel (Ga.) 84-67. They are led offensively by Kariel Hutt, who leads the team with 14.5 points per game through their first two games.

Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. It will be Sonoco Night at the DeLoach Center as Coker welcomes all Sonoco employees and their families to join  them for a fun night of basketball.
