Cobras Fall to Trojans in Quarterfinals

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's basketball team lost in the Conference Carolinas quarterfinals 84-64 to Mount Olive on Tuesday (Mar. 5) night.  The loss would end their season at the 18-11 mark, and 14-8 in league play.

Within the first ten minutes of the opening half, both teams struggled to take control as they battled to an 18-18 tie.  Mount Olive would then go on a 23-8 run to end the first half, and took a 41-26 advantage to the locker room.

In the second half Coker would cut the lead to as little as ten, but the deficit was just too much to overcome for the navy and yellow.

In her last game as a Cobra, senior guard Amber Lau tied for the team high 16-points.  Joining Lau in the 16-point category was Angie Lawrence.  Lawrence also had seven rebounds and two steals.  Autumn Lau had the game high eight rebounds, but also reached double-figures by scoring 11-points
