Yohn Hits Game Winner Against Crusaders

Hartsville, SC – With 15-seconds remaining in regulation Hailey Yohn hit the game winning three to put the Cobras up 80-78, and seal the deal against the North Greenville Crusaders.  With the win the Cobras improve to 9-3 on the year, and 5-1 in league play.

It was a tight competition from start to finish as both teams exchanged buckets in the first half.  The Crusaders scored the games first point on a free throw, but the Cobras took control after that and took a nine-point lead into the half.

Autumn Lau scored the first five points for the Cobras at the start of the second half, but then the offense went cold.  North Greenville cut the lead down to three points with just over two minutes remaining in the game.  A pair of free throws by Ciara Anderson eventually tied the game for the Crusaders at 76 a piece.

Out of a North Greenville timeout, the Crusaders took the lead with just 18 seconds left.  Angie Lawrence was then able to get to the free throw line, and connect on 1-of-2 from the charity stripe to put Coker within one.  Yohn would have the last say, as she proceeded to hit the game winning three.

As a team, the Cobras hit 51-percent from the floor, and 50-percent from trifecta range.  They also knocked in 18-of-24 (75-percent) free throws.

Amber Lau and Angie Lawrence both had a team high 18-points, and each collected eight and seven rebounds.  Including the game winner, Yohn had 13-points while Autumn Lau finished with 12-points.

Coker will hit the road for their next competition, as they travel to Barton College for a Conference Carolinas competition.  The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
