Cobras Looking to Land Fleet

HARTSVILLE, SC – The Coker women's basketball team will return to Conference Carolinas play on Thursday (Jan. 3) as they get set to host the Flying Fleet of Erskine College.  Live video broadcast of the game will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back during Thursdays game, as neither team came out on top during their most recent competition.  Coker lost to Georgia College, 67-57, while Erskine was defeated by Southern Wesleyan University 69-58.

The Cobras will rely heavily on the scoring of twin sisters Autumn (19) and Amber (17.8) Lau, who have averaged nearly 55-percent of the teams scoring so far this year.  Add sophomore guard Angie Lawrence (12.3) into the mix and the three players combined make-up over 73-percent of overall scoring.

Erskine will be seeking their first win of the season, and will be led by freshman guard Tori Whittenberg.  Whittenberg is averaging 13-points on 35-minutes per game.  Looking to assist Whittenberg will be sophomore forward Andrienne Bannerman who is averaging 10-points and 6-rebounds per game.

The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off time in the Timberlake-Lawton gymnasium.
