HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras women’s basketball team will play conference rival Lees-McRae Saturday at 2:00 p.m.  Coker is coming off of a tough road trip, going 0-3.  They look to find some comfort in playing at home as both of the Cobras wins this season have come in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.

In Coker’s last outing they lost to Mount Olive 45-69.  Sophomore Jasmine Alston (Sumter, S.C.) had game highs in points (15) and rebounds (8) for the Cobras.  It was the fifth time Alston led the Cobras offense in points on the season and sixth time Alston led in rebounds.  Senior Megan Thomas (Cresskill, N.J.) will look to help the Cobras return on top in their first home game since Winter Break.

Coker’s only 2 wins of the season have come at home this year.  Coker beat conference foes St. Andrews (67-58) and Limestone (61-59).

Lees-McRae will look to rebound from their last game against Erskine, as they dropped the matchup 74-75.  Junior Chloe Parker (Chicago, Ill.) led the team in points (17) and rebounds (13).  Parker has been a key component for Lees-McRae, as she has led the team in rebounds six times.  Sophomore Sophie Witte (Hamburg, DEU) has also been a major contributor, leading in rebounds four times.

Lees-McRae is 2-3 in their last five games, and 1-2 in their last three road games.
