Hartsville, SC- The Queens University of Royals defeated the Coker Lady Cobras in women’s collegiate basketball Saturday after, 86-66, with the help of a pair of 21 point performances from Markeisha Hicks and Marissa Hudley. The loss drops the Cobras to a 2-13 record on the year, and 1-7 in Conference Carolinas play, while Queens improves too 3-11 overall, and 3-4 in the conference.

Hicks and Hudley were not only scoring masters in the game, but also a pair of glass cleaners, grabbing a combined 27 rebounds. Hicks had 18 on her own giving her a double-double for the day, while Hudley had nine.

Coker was not without their stars, as Temeca Spain (Conway, SC) led all scorers with 23 points, while pulling down eight rebounds of her own. Also scoring in double figures were Madison Bycroft (South Australia) and Henna Koponen (Vantaa, Finland), each netting 10 points for the Cobras.

Coker returns to the floor on Monday night as they host Pfeiffer University in a conference game, while Queens travels to Barton also on Monday. Both games are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. tip-offs.
