Hartsville, SC- The Coker College Women’s Basketball Team dropped their sixth straight game to Lees-McRae College 67-55 on Saturday afternoon in women’s collegiate basketball. With the loss the Lady Cobras now drop to 3-13 overall, and 1-8 in the CVAC, while Lees-McRae improves to 5-9 overall, and 3-6 in the CVAC.

 

The lady Cobras came out strong and took an early lead thanks to some hot shooters. The Cobras shot 48 percent in the first, compared to the Bobcats 30 percent. The first half, which end at 30-25 favoring the Cobras, but Lees-McRae came out of the locker room ready to play in the second half.

 

The Bobcats found their stroke and shot 47 percent in the second half, including going 7-for-9 from beyond the arc in the second half, outscoring the Cobras 42-25.

 

Leading all scorers was senior Cobra India Elliott, scoring 21 points with three rebounds and two assists. Also scoring in double figures for the Cobras was Lotta Aaltonen with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

 

For Lees-McRae, four players scored double figures with Taukia Hughes leading the way with 16 points and three rebounds, while Cameron Crapps had 13 points and two rebounds. Dianca Jones had 11 points, four assists and three rebounds, and Stephanie Mullinax had 10 points with five rebounds.

 

The Cobras return to the floor on Thursday, January 25, when they travel to Anderson University for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
