Hartsville, SC- With only two minutes remaining in the game, Pfeiffer and Coker were dead locked at 59, Coker would take a momentary one point lead, but a steal and lay-up by Tamara Clay would give the Falcons the boost they needed to eventually go on and defeat Coker 65-60 in women’s basketball Saturday afternoon.

 

Coker, down by as much as 10 points early in the game, clawed their way back to lead 33-28 going into the half. The second was a back and forth battle, with seven lead changes and six ties, but in the end the Falcons came out on top.

 

Coker was led by Tara Nelson with 16 points and six rebounds, while seniors Ashley White and Rachel Kolbeck added a combined 25 points, 14 for White and 11 for Kolbeck, and 21 rebounds, 13 for Kolbeck and 8 for White.

 

Clay led all scores with 24 points and five rebounds, while Cathi Kennings gave Pfeiffer 10 points.

 

Coker drops to 6-19 overall, and 6-12 in the CVAC, while Pfeiffer improves to 13-12 overall, and 11-7 in the CVAC.

 

The Lady Cobras return to action on Monday for their final home game of the season versus Anderson University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
