Coker splits on the Road Against Catawba

Salisbury, NC. – Softball headed to North Carolina to the small town of Salisbury to take on Catawba. The Cobras faced Catawba in a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader. Coker fell in the first game 5-4.

 

What happened in game 1:

Catawba jumped to an early lead and were able to maintain it for the majority of the game. Caitlyn Wray doubled in the 6th as she drove Hannah Davis in and helped the Cobras on the board. Brooklynn Stueness the very next inning homered scoring Kelsi Scott and Arianna Fair. The Cobras took the lead in the 7th but Catawba came back at the bottom of the inning walking it off and taking the win 5-4. Jenae Fedewa had four strikeouts in game-1.

 

What happened in game 2:

At the top of the 1st Coker came out firing as Wray hit a homerun as she scored Gracen Chambless putting the Cobras went up 2-0 early. Catawba fought back in the 3rd and tied the game up at 2-2. Kayla Oswell found a gap as Chloe Pelham scored. Pelham came in the 5th hitting a single and driving in Stueness scored. The bullpen collected seven strikeouts combined. Coker went on to take second game 4-2.
