Softball Splits on the Road Against Erskine

 

Game 1- W (9-6)

Due West, SC- Erskine jumped out to a one-run lead early in the game. Coker had nothing going through the first three innings. At the top of the fourth Caitlyn Wray got it started for the Cobras as she singled to left center scoring Chloe Pelham giving the team their first run of the game. Kayla Oswell reached first in a ball that was smacked hard at the shortstop Scoring Mya Cribbs from third. The Cobras went on to take going into the bottom of the fourth (3-1).  Brooklynn Stueness doubles at the top of the seventh scoring Ariana Fair. Cameron Jackson and Delaney Eaves both went back-to-back home runs both grabbing two RBIs as well. Wray after such an explosive inning added a home run herself. Coker went on to win the first game (9-6).

 

Game 2- L (7-12)

The Cobras fought hard in a battle with Erskine. Both teams shared blows early in the game with Erskine striking first. Pelham with a crack of the bat hit a homerun scoring Jackson, as well as Stueness gave the team three runs and cut into the lead (3-5). Stueness came up in the fourth and had a sac fly scoring Makenzie Harmon. Wray reach on an error at the top of the sixth scoring Coker's last run as the team went on to drop game two (7-12).
