ROCK HILL, S.C. – Coker College softball pitcher Taylor Forehand has been named Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced this morning.

Forehand, a sophomore from New Bern, N.C., was 2-0 during the week of Apr. 3-9, allowing just four hits in 11-shutout innings. In her start against Wingate (Apr. 4), the right-hander struck out four batters in six innings, allowing just two hits. She continued her strong performance in the circle on Saturday (Apr. 8), allowing just two hits in five-shutout innings against Carson-Newman.

On the season, Forehand has a 10-1 record, a 1.84 ERA and has not lost a game since Feb. 11.

She is the daughter of Gina and Cliff Forehand and is a mathematics and science major.
