Coker Softball to Participate in "Faith, Fight, Frost" Breast Cancer Awareness Game

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – On the Saturday (Apr. 8), the Coker College softball team will welcome the visiting Carson-Newman University Eagles for a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader. However, the game on the field will take a back seat to the battle that one in eight women face.

Both South Atlantic Conference teams will be taking place in a nationwide Breast Cancer Awareness event to support Missy Frost, head softball coach at the University of Indianapolis and all those affected by breast cancer.

In November 2016, Frost was diagnosed with breast cancer and in February 2017, just days before the Greyhounds kicked off their season, coach Frost began chemotherapy treatments.

On Saturday, a total of 41 teams, from 16 states and 14 athletic conferences will wear the slogan "Faith, Fight, Frost" to show support for Frost and her ongoing battle with breast cancer.

"We are honored to have an opportunity to join many others across the country to support Coach Frost," said Coker head softball coach Travis McCall. "Her contributions to the game of softball have impacted many lives during her career and we join her in her fight and all those affected by cancer."

Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
