Cobras Welcome Railsplitters and No. 22 Saints for Weekend Homestand

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team is set for a pair of weekend doubleheaders, the first coming on Saturday (Mar. 25) against South Atlantic Conference foe Lincoln Memorial University. The second doubleheader is set for Sunday (Mar. 26) against No. 22 Limestone College. Saturday will begin at 1 p.m. with Sunday starting at 2 p.m. Live stats and video can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras enter the weekend with a 25-9 record and a 2-2 record in SAC play after sweeping Queens on Wednesday. Tayler Barcomb, Maria Williamson and Hannah Price continue to lead the way for the Cobras on the offensive end, all three ranking in the top-six in RBI in the SAC. Barcomb ranks second with 39, Williamson ranks third with 38, while Price sits at No. 6 with 32. Barcomb also ranks atop the SAC in doubles with 15, while Williamson leads the SAC in big flies with 10.

Coker's team ERA of 2.14 ranks only behind Carson-Newman and Lenoir-Rhyne. All five pitchers on the Navy and Gold pitching staff are sporting below a 3.00 ERA.

Lincoln Memorial travels to Hartsville with a 17-10 overall record and a 1-3 record in South Atlantic Conference play. Ty-Kella Goins leads the way with 23 RBI and a .358 batting average.

Limestone enters the weekend with a 27-5 overall record. They will face North Greenville on Saturday before traveling to Hartsville. Emma Swearingen leads the way for the Saints with 32 RBI and a .308 batting average.

Game one on Saturday (Mar. 25) will begin at 1 p.m., with the gates of Saleeby-Stokes Softball Field opening at noon. Game one on Sunday will begin at 2 p.m., with gates opening at 1 p.m. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
