GAFFNEY, SC — Coker’s softball team earned a split at Limestone Saturday afternoon, taking game one 3-1 but falling 6-5 in game two.

Sophomore Somer Bigham pitched a one-hitter in game one and the Cobras scored two in the fifth and one in the seventh to get the win.  Jacque Stewart went 3-4 with two runs scored and Marie Mascio also had three hits and drove in three for Coker.

In game two the Saints rallied from a 1-0 first inning deficit to score four in the second and two in the third.  The Cobras put three on the board in the third inning and one more in the sixth, but couldn’t tie the game.

Bigham went three innings with six hits allowed in the second game before giving way to Amanda Shelton, who pitched the final three innings without allowing a run.

Coker travels to Belmont Abbey on Sunday, April 3, for a stern test against the Crusaders.  BAC is off to a strong start in the CVAC and host the Cobras at 2:00 PM in Belmont, NC.
