HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team went 1-1 on its final day of competition at the King University Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 18) afternoon. The Cobras lost 3-1 in game one against Limestone College, but pulled out a 3-0 sweep in game two against Belmont Abbey College.

The Limestone match was closely contested as each of the first three sets were decided by three points or less with the navy and yellow taking the opening set 25-23. However, Limestone would rally to take the next three sets 29-27, 30-28 and 25-16 to capture the match.

Leading the way statistically for Coker was Artur Cabral with 21 kills and four digs, while Francisco Cabrera chipped in 10 kills and five digs. Cooper Lyon led the way defensively with a match-high 10 digs and Ricardo Ferrer dished out 39 assists.

In game two against Belmont Abbey, Coker would sweep the Crusaders in straight sets with scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-14 thanks to the offensive efficiency of Artur Cabral.

Cabral led the Cobras with 12 kills on a .455 hitting percentage, he also collected five digs in the win. Francisco Cabrera added nine kills and seven digs for Coker, while Luke Hansen tallied six kills and a team-high eight digs. Ricardo Ferrer set the attack for the navy and yellow with his match-high 27 assists.

The Cobras will return to the court next Saturday (Jan. 25) when they travel to Eastern Mennonite University to take on the Royals in a doubleheader. Matches are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. with live stats and video available at www.cokercobras.com.
