Men’s Volleyball Adds First Recruits for 2013-14

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College announced today that Paco Cabrera and Jay Fisher have agreed to play men's volleyball for the Cobras. They will join the team beginning in the 2013-14 academic year.

Cabrera, a 6-foot-2-inch setter, joins Coker from Colegio Marista High School in Baymon, Puerto Rico. He was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and basketball. In volleyball, he made nine all-star teams, was named an all-alliance player – which selects the top 10 players in the league – and was tournament MVP of the Colegio San Jose Invitational.

Cabrera intends to major in physical education and sport studies with a concentration in sports management at Coker. He is the son of Jose Cabrera and Norma Soldevila.

Fisher is a 5-foot-11-inch setter and defensive specialist from Lake Worth Christian School in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and tennis for the Defenders. Fisher is also a member of the Palm Beach Juniors volleyball club program.

Fisher intends to be a business administration major at Coker. He is the son of Don and Heather Fisher.
