Saints Over Cobras, 3-1

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Freshman Luke Hansen led the Coker men's volleyball team with 12-kills in Saturday's (Feb. 16) 3-1 loss to Limestone College. 

The first set was neck-and-neck as both teams exchanged points.  Suddenly, Limestone scored three straight points and took a 17-13 lead that prompted a Coker timeout. 

After the timeout, Coker rallied back and would eventually tie the set at 24.  The Cobras then battled to a 29-29 tie with the Saints, and would take the next two points to capture the first set win. 

Limestone however, would prove to be too strong for the Cobras as they took control and won the next three sets (25-21, 25-16, 25-15) in a row.

Liam Flaherty was second in kills for the Cobras after he recorded nine.  Ricardo Ferrer tallied 29-assists, while Cooper Lyon tied for the game high 12-digs.  

 As a team Coker earned 38-kills, 34-assists, 28-digs, and two blocks.

Coker will look to bounce back on Sunday (Feb. 17), when they play against Washington Adventist, The game is scheduled for a 10:00 am start time.
