Men’s Tennis Welcomes Anderson on Senior Day

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College men's tennis team (11-9 overall) will welcome the visiting Anderson University Trojans Saturday (Apr. 14) afternoon on senior day at 2 p.m. Coker will be honoring seniors Dominic Allan, Simon Bergbom, Henrik Hellbe, Felix Schweyer, and Mark Watt before the match.

Allan is a native of Marietta, Ga. and is a graphic design major. In his Coker career, Allan has recorded 16 singles victories and 26 wins in doubles play, the sixth best mark in Coker history. In addition, Allan was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete. Allan was a member of the Coker men's tennis team for all four years. He is the son of Lisa Bento and has one brother, Marcus.

Bergbom is a native of Stockholm, Sweden and has competed for the Cobras all four years. He has accumulated 18 singles wins, the seventh best mark in Coker history, and has earned 19 doubles victories during his career. In addition, Bergbom was named an ITA Scholar Athlete.  Bergbom is the son of Mernilla Anglered and Kenneth Bergbom. He has one brother; Jonas.

Hellbe is from Stockholm, Sweden and majors in business at Coker. A three-year member of the Coker men's tennis team, Hellbe has picked up 15 singles victories and 25 wins in doubles action, good for seventh in the Coker record books. In addition, Hellbe was named an ITA Scholar Athlete. He is the son of Lisa and Torbjorn Hellbe. He has two siblings; Martin and Erica.

Schweyer is a native of Bavaria, Germany and majors in Business at Coker. A four-year member of the Cobras, Schweyer has earned 37 victories in singles play, good for fourth in the Coker record books, and 33 wins in doubles action, good for fifth most in Coker men's tennis history. In addition, Schweyer was named an ITA Scholar Athlete.  He is the son of Angelika Littich-Schweyer and Jakob Schweyer. He has two siblings; Franziska and Verena.

Watt is from Glasgow, Scotland and majors in business at Coker. A four-year member of the Coker men's tennis team, Watt has posted a stellar career with 49 singles victories, the most in Coker men's tennis history, and 37 wins in doubles play, tied for third in the Coker record books. Watt earned All-SAC honors during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. In addition, Watt was named an ITA Scholar Athlete. He is the son of Colette and Mark Watt. He has two sisters; Olivia and Grace.

Heading into tomorrow's match, Watt and Justus Lehman lead the Navy and Gold in singles play. Watt currently holds an impressive 16-4 record at the No. 1 position and is currently riding a five match win streak, while Lehman boasts a 15-3 record, collecting 10 wins at the No. 5 spot and five wins at No. 6 singles. In addition, Hunter Horton has earned an 10-10 record at No. 2 singles.

In doubles play, Horton and Lehman have recorded a team-best 12-7 record at No. 2 doubles. Felix Schweyer and Dominic Allan have posted a 10-4 record at No. 3 doubles, while Hellbe and Watt sport an 11-8 record at the No. 1 slot.

Anderson enters tomorrow's match with an 11-8 overall record, which includes a 5-4 mark in SAC play.

As mentioned, opening serve is set for 2 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
