Cobras Host Eagles for Saturday SAC Showdown
Coker will look to defend home court against Carson-Newman on Saturday.

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker men's tennis looks to pick up another South Atlantic Conference win on Saturday (Mar. 11) when they host the Carson-Newman Eagles.
The Cobras (7-4, 1-1 SAC) dropped their last match back on Saturday (Mar. 4) when they fell to Belmont Abbey 5-4. The Crusaders led 2-1 after doubles play, with Simon Bergbom and Felix Schweyer winning 8-2 at No. 2. Mark Watt opened up singles play with a straight sets 6-4, 6-4 win. Schweyer picked up another singles win at No. 3, winning in straight sets 7-6, 6-3. Hunter Horton earned the three-set 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4 to get the Cobras within one of clinching the match. The Crusaders won the final two singles contests to seal the match.
On the year, Watt leads the team with a 9-2 mark at No. 1 singles including two of those wins in conference play. Coker has used four different doubles pairs this season, and all four have winning records. Henrik Hellbe and Hunter Horton lead the way with an 8-3 mark, going 1-1 in conference.
The Eagles come into the matchup 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the league. Gabriel Dabdab is a team-best 5-3 in singles play, while Dabdab and Joao Pedro Oliveria have won four doubles matches and are 2-0 in conference play.
First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. at the Coker tennis courts.
