2011-12 Individual Stats

2012: Sweeney played in all 17 games in 2012, starting 16. He led Conference Carolinas with a 0.81 goals against average and was second in the conference in save percentage (.806). A First Team All-Conference selection, he compiled a record of 12-4-1 with five shut outs and 54 saves. He was also an Academic All-Conference selection and was named Second Team All-Southeast Region by the NSCAA.

2011: Sweeney played and started in all 21 games for Coker in 2011. He had seven shutouts and made 58 saves, finishing the season with a record of 18-3. He was ranked No. 4 in the NCAA in Goals Against Average (GAA) with a 0.61 GAA and was ranked NO. 24 in save percentage with a .817 save percentage. He was a First Team All-Conference selection, a Daktronics First Team All-Region selection, and a NSCAA First Team All-Southeast Region selection. He was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year and was a Capital One Academic All-American First Team selection. He also received Coker's top athletic honor as the C.G. Timberlake Athlete of the Year for 2011-12.

2010: Sweeney played in and started all 18 games for the Cobras.  He made 69 saves and finished the season with a record of 7-6-5, with six shutouts.  Surrendering only 22 goals on the season, he finished with a goals against average of 1.17 per game. James was a Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team selection.

2009: Sweeney had an outstanding freshman year earning Third Team All-Conference and Coker Freshman of the Year honors. He finished the season with a record of 11-4-3, with nine shutouts.  Surrendering only 16 goals on the season, Sweeney finished with a goals against average of 0.82 per game.  Sweeney was selected for Team USA during the summer.

High School: A First Team All-Conference and an All-Region selection and standout player at Huntingtown High School.

Personal: Son of Franklin and Christine Sweeney...his brother A.J. also played soccer for Coker graduated in 2010.
