Hartsville, S.C. - It looks as if the Coker men’s soccer season will end with their Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship on  Sunday afternoon. The Cobras were not one of the six teams selected for the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament that starts on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Coker ends their season with the best record in school history, 12-5-3 overall and 4-5-1 in the conference, including the program’s first ever conference tournament championship. The Cobras also received their first national ranking in school history and their highest regional ranking in school history during the season.

In addition to the accomplishments Coker received as a team, several Cobras received individual honors including Marc Mergena (Port-au-Prince, Haiti), Eric Stiefield (Eustis, Fla.), Daniel Shrizad (Orlando, Fla.) and James Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) being named All-Conference and Mergena, Ben Beetch (Palmer, Alaska), Tyler Senecal (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.), Noah Lascell (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and AJ Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) being named to the All-Tournament team, with AJ Sweeney being named tournament MVP.

Coach Paul Leese and the Cobras will now take a break until the spring when they prepare to defend their Conference Carolinas Title with their off-season workouts.
