Hartsville, S.C. – In the 78th minute Limestone took a corner kick and after crossing it into the box the Saints took at least three shots that Coker was able to block, but in the scramble to gain possession of the ball, the Saints Mark Johnston was able to sneak the ball just across the goal line. Johnston’s goal was the only scoring of the game and was enough to give Limestone a 1-0 win over Coker in Conference Carolinas men’s soccer. The win brings Limestone to 8-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference as the Cobras fall to 2-7-1 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

It was as even a match as is possible, with each team getting nine shots off, while the Cobras held the advantage in shots on goal 6-5, with four of Coker’s shots on goal coming from Stefan Voukes (Winter Park, FL).

Limestone keeper, Mark Davidson had six saves in the match, with the Cobras’ Joel Tyson (Irmo, SC) picking up four saves.

A hard fought match, there were 12 total fouls and nine cards issued in the game.

Coker returns to the field on Saturday, as they host King College at 6:00 p.m. in their 2008 Homecoming match, while Limestone hosts Barton at 4:00p.m.
