Hartsville, SC- For nearly 70 minutes, neither Coker nor Limestone was able to give each other one inch of room for error. Both the Cobras and the Saints had some stellar defensive stops and some outstanding saves from goalkeepers Ryan Robinson and Nathan Scales. But, in the end the Saints finally broke through and with three goals in the second half defeated the Cobras, 3-0 in CVAC conference play Saturday afternoon.

In the 68th minute Bryan Blom got the Saints on the board, netting the ball past Coker’s Scales off a rebound. Limestone didn’t waste anytime before they struck again, this time Dominic Casciato scored with an assist from Joel Moran, who gave Casciato a nice pass off the corner kick. The Saints final goal came from a deflection on a corner kick that Tom Beattie put in the back of the net.

Coker played a stellar game, but was unable to come away with the victory. Each team had 10 shots, with the Cobras out shooting the Saints seven to four in the first half. Scales had three saves in the game, while Limestone’s Robinson had five saves and earned the shutout.

Coker’s next match comes on Tuesday, October 3, when they travel to Mount Olive College at 4:30 p.m. Limestone’s will travel to Lees-McRae on Tuesday as well.
