HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University men's lacrosse player Joe Venazio was named the SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of February, announced today (Friday, Mar. 6).

Venazio led the Cobras to a 5-1 record in the month of February, while being named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week twice (Feb. 3 and Feb. 24). Venazio was also named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II Team of the Week for the week of Feb. 24-29). Venazio currently leads the South Atlantic Conference in goals (22), assists (17) and points (39). He is also tied for ninth in ground balls (25), and first in the league in caused turnovers (13).

 The Myrtle Beach, S.C. native is the son of Joe and Tanya Venazio, and is an exercise science major.
