Cobras Fall To No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne In SAC Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne 21-7 in their South Atlantic Conference opener Saturday (Mar. 4) afternoon. Garrett Kilgore led the scoring effort for the Cobras with two goals and one assist.

Trailing 10-2 at halftime, the Cobras started to battle back into the game with five-straight goals in the third quarter. Garrett Kilgore started the scoring streak with a goal on a man up opportunity. Next, Tim Wright added a goal when he ripped a shot into the back of the cage. Finally, the Cobra defensive midfielders, DeShaun Ormond and Patrick Timothee, got into the scoring action by tallying the next three goals for the Navy and Gold to electrify the Coker sideline.

However, Lenoir-Rhyne would go on to score the next nine goals to end the game. The Cobras will be back in action next Saturday (Mar. 11) when they travel to Brevard to take on the Tornados at 3 p.m.
