Cobras Capture Third and Fourth Place at Mount Olive Invitational

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Coker men's and women's golf teams finished in fourth and third place on Tuesday (Apr. 9) at the Mount Olive Invitational, after shooting team totals of 686 and 597 during the two day, two round tournament. 

Taylor Demby shot the lowest score for the women's team with a two-day total of 168.  Demby also tied for ninth place individually during the tournament.  Mallory Thompkins shot a 169 and finished 11th individually, while Krista Thorpe tied for 13th with a score of 172.  Sara Allen and Jessi McKenzie also finished in the top 25, with scores of 177 and 198.

Christopher Fuga led the way for the men's team with a low score of 145.  Fuga shot the second lowest round two score in the tournament with a 69, and tied for seventh overall.  Aaron Beebe and Nicklaus Kennedy finished with final scores of 150 and 151, while Luke Coates and Josh Clay shot scores of 152 and 159.

Both the men's and the women's teams will next compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship.  The tournament will start on Saturday, April 20.
