Cobras Move to 15th After Second Round of NCAA Regional

CONOVER, N.C.- Christopher Fuga fired a three-under-par 69 in the second round of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional helping the Coker men move to 15th place on Tuesday.

With one round remaining the Cobras (598, +22) are 18 strokes behind the leaders, Georgia College (580, +4). This should be familiar territory for Coker, as they made up the same deficit in the final round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament on their way to the conference championship.

Florida Tech is in second place at 581 (+5), while UNC Pembroke, Barry and USC Aiken are all tied for third at 584 (+8). In order for the Cobras to advance to the NCAA National  Championship they must finish in the top five as a team.

Fuga's 69 moved him into 10th place overall, while Jake Murphy is in 27th after carding a three-over-par 75. Diego Polo shot a two-over 74 and Jared Crane fired a 79 (+7). Josh Clay rounded out the Coker golfers with an 83 (+11).

The Cobras will complete play at the par-72, 7,064 yard Rock Barn Golf and Spa starting at 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Fans can follow the action live online with live scoring on www.golfstat.com.
