Cobra Men's Golf in Fourth After First Round of Carolina Sands

WHITE LAKE, N.C. – The Coker men's golf team opened play at the 2012 Carolina Sands Invitational by firing a team score of 286 (-2) in the first round. The two-under-par team score places the Cobras in fourth behind Wingate (277, -11), Barton (281, -7) and UNC Pembroke (282, -6).

Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) sits in ninth place after an opening round 70 (-2), while Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) is in 16th after carding a 71 (-1). Christopher Fuga (Phoenixville, Pa.) is in 22nd after shooting an even par 72 and Diego Polo (Guatemala) is in 27th after an opening round 73 (+1). Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) rounds out the field for the Cobras in 37th with a 74 (+2).

The Cobras will complete the Carolina Sands on Sunday with the final round of play at the par-72, 6,931 yard White Lake Country Club.
