Coker in Third After Opening Round of Barton Intercollegiate

WILSON, N.C. – Coker senior Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) carded a two-under par 70, while leading the Cobra men's golf team in the opening round of the 37th Annual Barton Intercollegiate. The Cobras fired a team score of 294 (+6), placing them in third. They trail Barton College's "A" team in first at 280 (-8) and the Bulldog's "B" team in second at 292 (+4).

Coker holds the lead over Conference Carolinas foes Belmont Abbey (297) in fourth and Queens University of Charlotte (298) in fifth.

Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) sits in a tie for ninth after an opening round 71 (-1), while Luke Coates (Florence, S.C.) shot a 76 (+4) and Christopher Fuga (Phoenixville, Pa.) carded a 77 (+5). Rounding out the Cobra golfers was Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) with an opening round 82 (+10).

The Cobras will complete the final round of the Barton Intercollegiate at the par-72 Wilson Country Club on Tuesday.
