VASS, N.C. – Coker’s Diego Polo (Guatemala City, Guatemala) holds a share of the lead, while the Cobra men’s golf team trails Queens University by just ten strokes after the opening round of the Conference Carolinas at the Woodlake Resort, Maples Course in Vass, N.C. Coker shot an opening round of 307 (+19) placing them in third place behind Queens at 297 (+9) and Barton College 301 (+13).

Polo shot a one under 71 and holds a share of the lead with Queens’ David Bainbridge. Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) is just three shots off the lead and is tied for fifth after a first round score of 74 (+2). Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) opened play with an eight over 80, while Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) shot a 10 over 82. Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.) rounds out the field for the Cobras with an opening round fo 90 (+18).
